LinkedIn profile lookup

linkedin_lookup_profile

Fetch one linkedin member profile from a handle, id, or URL. Reads experience and education by default; set sections to basic or full to read less or more. Optional invitation_status reuses this profile without a full invitation scan. Invitation sends require no prior status lookup.

Expected: Normalized member identity, headline, company, and public profile fields.

Parameters

account_id
string

Connected SalesTouch account id, username, email, handle, or account URL.

identifierrequired
string

LinkedIn member handle, public id, account id, or profile URL.

sections
string

Profile detail to read. standard (default) adds experience and education; basic returns identity, headline and location only; full adds skills, languages, certifications, projects, recommendations and interests. Each extra section is another LinkedIn request on the seat, so prefer the smallest level that answers the question.

Aliases are shown independently because MCP clients send a flat JSON object. Use one alias from each required group, not every alias.

Common errors

insufficient_scope

Reconnect the MCP and approve the requested LinkedIn permission.

paid_plan_required

Follow the error's action_url: start the free trial, choose a plan after a trial or subscription ended, or update the payment method after a failed payment. details.reason names which one.

trial_payment_method_required

Retry after a minute if checkout was just completed; otherwise add a payment method in SalesTouch billing to activate the trial and LinkedIn MCP access.
