Write a vault file

vault_write

Create or update a text file in the company vault, the team's shared knowledge base that every member and SalesTouch agent reads. mode replace (default) needs base_version: the version vault_read returned, or 0 for a new file; a stale version is refused so nobody's edit is lost. mode append adds text at the end, for logs and journals. Follow SCHEMA.md conventions and pass log_summary to record the change in log.md. Text only, up to 3 MB.

When to use it

Save durable company knowledge for the whole team and its agents: update an offer, a persona or a playbook, record a call or a learning.

Requirements

Read the file first and pass its version as base_version, or 0 for a new file.
Follow SCHEMA.md: one topic per note, frontmatter, kebab-case file names.
Analysts cannot change the vault.

Expected: The file path, its new version and size, and whether log.md recorded the change.

Parameters

space
string

company (default): the vault shared with your team. personal: your private workspace, shared with no one.

pathrequired
string

File path relative to the vault root, for example 02-offers/core-offer.md.

contentrequired
string

Full new text of the file, or the text to add with mode append.

base_version
integer

Version returned by vault_read, or 0 to create a new file. Required with mode replace.

mode
string

replace (default) rewrites the file; append adds content at the end.

log_summary
string

One-line summary of the change, recorded in log.md.

Aliases are shown independently because MCP clients send a flat JSON object. Use one alias from each required group, not every alias.

Common errors

insufficient_scope

Reconnect the MCP and approve the requested LinkedIn permission.

paid_plan_required

Follow the error's action_url: start the free trial, choose a plan after a trial or subscription ended, or update the payment method after a failed payment. details.reason names which one.

trial_payment_method_required

Retry after a minute if checkout was just completed; otherwise add a payment method in SalesTouch billing to activate the trial and LinkedIn MCP access.

vault_unavailable

The company vault comes with the SalesTouch agent. Ask a workspace admin to enable it.

vault_conflict

Someone changed the file since you read it: read it again, merge your change and retry with the new base_version.

credits_required

Files over 256 KB are billed in agent credits: add credits to the workspace in SalesTouch, then retry.
